Since February 2024, I have been Associate General Counsel for Institutional Markets at Corebridge Financial in New York, where I advise on benefits and compensation issues tied to complex products, governance, and strategic business initiatives. I really enjoy work that sits at the intersection of legal precision and practical execution, especially when the advice needs to be clear, fast, and business-minded.

Before moving in-house, I was an Associate in Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation at Dechert LLP from May 2022 through January 2024, and before that I was in Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP's Executive Compensation & Benefits group in the Tax Department from July 2020 to April 2022. Across both firms, I advised public and private companies and investment funds on compensation and benefits matters in corporate transactions, restructurings, financings, and securities offerings.

Over time, that work has included drafting and negotiating equity and cash incentive structures, employment and severance arrangements, change-in-control protections, and restrictive covenants, while also helping clients navigate ERISA and Internal Revenue Code compliance, including diligence issues like Section 280G. I also handled day-to-day governance and disclosure support, including securities-related documentation and employee communications.

I built my foundation at Seyfarth Shaw LLP across Chicago and New York, progressing from Summer Fellow in 2017 to Senior Fellow (September 2018 to January 2019) and then Associate (January 2019 to April 2020). That chapter gave me strong experience in retirement and health and welfare plan design, non-qualified arrangements, operational governance, and ERISA Title I advice for alternative investments.

Earlier legal roles at the International Legal Foundation and TIAA, along with a business development internship at Kaye Scholer (now Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer), shaped how I approach legal problems: be practical, be responsive, and always keep people at the center.

I earned my J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in June 2018, where I was a Staff Editor on the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution, a 2016 New York City Bar Diversity Fellow, and a 2016 Don H. Liu Scholar (AABANY). I also worked as a research assistant to Professor Kate Shaw, served as a 1L Advocate in the Suspension Representation Project, and was Secretary of APALSA.

Before law school, I received my B.A. in Economics from NYU in May 2015, served as Vice President and Events Chair of the United Sikh Association, and spent a semester at NYU London in Fall 2013. Outside of work, I have taught at the Guru Gobind Singh Sikh Center in Plainview since 2014. I am fluent in Hindi and Punjabi, conversational in Spanish, and admitted in Illinois (2018) and New York.
